How we're using our April KID Club Stickers
If your kid (or let's be real—you) loves stickers and playing explorer, then this month’s April Kids sticker pack is about to become your new favorite trail buddy. It’s outdoorsy, it’s adventure-ready, and we turned it into the cutest little DIY “Field Notes” booklet—perfect for hiking, camping, backyard bug-hunting, or just collecting the magic of a nature walk.
This project is low-prep, all-fun, and gets bonus points for combining creativity with fresh air. Here’s how we made it step-by-step:
🐾 What You’ll Need:
-
A few sheets of cardstock (we used 2–3 pieces, folded in half)
-
A stapler
-
Your April Kids sticker pack (with all those trees, critters, and camping gear!)
-
Markers, crayons, pencils
-
Optional: washi tape, leaf rubbings, pressed flowers, or nature scavenger finds 🍂
🏞️ Step-by-Step: Build Your Field Notes Booklet
Step 1: Fold and staple
Take your cardstock sheets, fold them in half like a book, and staple along the fold to create a spine. Ta-da! Instant mini booklet. (No stapler? Hole punch along the edge and tie with string for a camp-core vibe.)
Step 2: Decorate the cover
Time to bring the outdoorsy charm. Use your April Kids stickers to decorate the front cover—think trail signs, cute animals, campfires, trees, and tents! Add your name or title it “Field Notes” or “My Nature Journal” in big bold letters.
Step 3: Take it outside!
Bring your Field Notes booklet with you on your next adventure—whether it's a forest hike, a walk around the block, or even just time spent in the backyard. The goal? Observe, draw, and document what you see! 🐿️🌳
Step 4: Record your findings
Each page can be used to draw something you spotted, write a little blurb (“Saw a squirrel stealing a snack!!”), or press in tiny treasures like a leaf or a flower petal. Kids can trace stick shapes, count bird calls, or make up names for imaginary bugs. Grown-ups? You can use it for journaling, sketching, or tracking hikes.
Step 5: Sticker your sightings
After you’ve written or drawn something, add a sticker that fits! Saw a raccoon? Pop that critter on the page. Climbed a big hill? Add a mountain or trail sign. It’s like a reward for each little observation—and yes, it makes the whole thing feel extra magical.
This DIY Field Notes booklet is the perfect companion for springtime adventures. Whether you're heading to the mountains or just strolling to the park, it makes you pause, observe, and celebrate the tiny details. (And let’s be honest, everything’s more fun when stickers are involved.)
Now go outside and get exploring—stickers in hand! 🌞🦋💌
